We see these every time we log onto the internet and even in our Windows main menu.  How do they know what we have been looking at?  Where do they get the information?

The answer is simple:  we gave them permission.  When you first set up your computer and your web browsers, there was a box that same something along the lines of “help make us better by sharing your information”, the box was already checked off for you.

If you didn’t un-check the box, you gave permission for your activity to be tracked, stored, and used as the computer company saw fit.  If you decide that you don’t want your activity tracked, you can turn off your permission in the settings of your browser.
