Malware is a very broad term. Basically, it is software that is software that is created to damage your system and/or to get your personal information.
A smaller section of malware is malvertisting. This is an ad online with code in it so when you click on the image the malware is transferred to your computer. It could also send you to fake websites to try to get your information.
What to do:
1: Make sure that the website you are on is where you want to be.
2: Again, check the spelling and grammar
3: Do some research on what you are looking at. If it seems wrong, check it out by typing it into a search engine.
4: And finally, if you aren’t sure if you are on the right website, shut down the webpage and type in the page you want!
