The holidays are here which means that the charities are ramping up their efforts for donations. What this means to you? It also means that scammers are ramping up their efforts as well.
They have been known to call claiming to be a charity, a company that you buy items from, even the government.
How to Spot a Scamming Phone Call:
1: The phone number is unfamiliar
2: Don’t trust your caller ID, it is relatively easy to manipulate them
3: The person is nice at first and then becomes pushy
4: Don’t give them any information if they call you, call them back
If you aren’t sure if the call is legitimate, don’t answer it. If it’s someone important they will call back.
