Last week Microsoft rolled out their April 2018 Update with it’s newest features.  Along with the new features was a patch to re-fix the Meltdown bug.

What was wrong with the previous patch?

Apparently, the patch that previously came out made that Meltdown fix ineffective, allowing hackers to bypass the patch and still access your computer the same as before Meltdown was patched.

April 2018 Update:

Microsoft rolled out the new update, that we blogged about previously, that is supposed to fix the previous one that made the patch for Meltdown ineffective.

What can you do?

Make sure your Windows is up-to-date so that the patches are in place. Some updates haven’t been pushed through for all versions of Windows yet.
