Ransomware is one of the most used forms of malware out there. Not simply for the fact that it produces money for the hackers behind it but because it is adaptable.
SamSam has been around for a few years but now there is a new twist to it. This version targets out-of-date computers in order to get in. Once one machine is infected, SamSam then works as a worm to infect all of the machines on the network.
The Twist:
Once all the machines on the network have been infected you will be contacted by the hackers for payment so they won’t encrypt your files!

Keep your computer up-to-date
Do regular back-ups
Make sure you have an anti-virus on your computer!
