Phishing scams are a popular go-to for hackers. They use scare tactics to convince you to pay them! The latest one looks something like this:
What’s wrong with this email?
1: The email doesn’t have specific information; they have your email but don’t name of the site or send proof. If they were going to blackmail you shouldn’t they have send proof?
2: They offer to send proof to your friends but not to you.
3: Like so many other phishing scams, this email is full of spelling and grammar mistakes.
What to do if you get the email:
1: Don’t pay the ransom – they are bluffing!
2: Even if the email has your name on it, don’t send money – with all of the breaches lately it’s easy to get your name.
