With summer here, scammers are out in full force. They realize that we do more in the summer because of the good weather.
The first scam is relatively low tech.
Someone will show up at your house and say they were working down the street and have extra supplies from that project and offer to fix a “problem” that they noticed while driving by.
If you hire them, you will end up paying for work that doesn’t get done, is shoddy, or totally unnecessary.
What to do:
Use your best judgment. Does that project really need to be done? Why are they at your house? Who are they working for?
Get references and make sure that they are licensed and insured!
