We have all been there.  We forget our password and have to reset it.  Most companies give the option of a text message or an automated phone call to reset password.

Hackers can do the same thing.  They opt for the phone call, route all of your calls to voicemail which they have already broken the password to.  Once they have access to your voicemail, they can reset passwords on all of your accounts.

How do you protect yourself?

1:  Make the pin on your voicemail more than 4 digits.  The longer it is, the harder it is to break.

2:  Don’t give out your phone number unless absolutely necessary.

3:  Turn off your voicemail if you don’t use it.
