On Wednesday October 3rd we all got a test from the Wireless Emergency Alert system.
In the past these alerts were done on the television but since almost everyone has a cell phone now, the government has decided to use the Wireless Emergency Alert System.
The alerts read “Presidential Alert”, but it wasn’t actually from the President. These alerts come from FEMA and are for emergencies such as AMBER alerts.
Beware of the scams that may follow that tell you that you have to confirm your information. This is not true!
