This phishing email says you won a 2018 BMW, all you have to do is answer with your name, phone number and address! (see image below for email example)
Wait… how could you win a car if they don’t have this information?
If you’re skeptical, you have a good reason to be! This email is a scam and once you give them your information they will keep asking for more until you either give them all of your information or decide that it’s not worth it.
How to protect yourself against phishing scams:
If you get this email or one similar, don’t click on any link or attachment!
When an email is addressed “Dear Sir or Madam” just delete it!
If it seems too good to be true, odds are it is.
Don’t verify any sensitive information over email!
