Hackers have upped their game. Not long ago they were sending email threatening to expose their victims ‘private’ habits to all of their friends and family members if they didn’t get payment.
After that, there was the phishing scam that threatened bomb detonations if they weren’t paid. This particular scam didn’t meet with the success they hoped for because most people who got the email called the police.
The latest? Now they are threatening to ‘eliminate’ you if you don’t pay them more than someone else has offered! The email looks something like this:
Signs that it’s a scam:
1: Spelling and grammar are awful! English is definitely not this person’s first language.
2: Let’s be logical for a minute… if someone is going to ‘eliminate’ you, are they going to tell you beforehand?
