Recently there have been hackers who have been able to bypass the two factor authentication with a phishing email or instant message.
The link has one or two letters wrong. For example, the link might say LunkedIn.com instead of LinkedIn.com
The hackers are hoping that you won’t notice the one or two letters that are wrong and you will click on the link.
Once you do, you are sent to the hackers website that collects all the information that they need to log into your account indefinitely. This is how they bypass the two factor authentication.
How to protect against this:
1: Don’t click on a link if you aren’t sure about it. Always type the website in so that you go to the right page!
2: If something is spelled wrong, there’s a good chance it’s a scam. Most hackers don’t use English as their primary language.
