While having your phone location available is extremely helpful at times, for instance if you have an emergency or need roadside assistance. There are other times when it shouldn’t be available.
Recent studies show that Sprint, AT&T, and Sprint all sell your location to a ‘middleman’ who then in turn sells is to whoever they want to.
It could end up anywhere, including on the dark web for sale!
What do the carriers say about this?
They say that they are only sharing what we have agreed to let them share. But did we really authorize them to sell our location and then allow it to be resold again and again?
What can you do?
Call them and ask them how they are sharing your data. If you don’t like the answers, tell them you want to opt out of having your data shared.
