A staff member recently received the following email from “Amazon”:

This phishing scam stands out from others for a few reasons.

1:  It’s from ‘Amazon’

Hackers love to pretend they are someone trusted and most people have Amazon accounts that they use frequently!

Please note that the ‘from’ says Amazon and then it says “ChelsieBasco”@bmgint.net.  That’s a dead giveaway that it’s a scam.

2:        There are few grammar / spelling errors.

If you missed the address, then you would be looking for bad spelling or grammar and this email doesn’t seem to have much except the first sentence.

3:        Amazon doesn’t email you with order shipment confirmations.

What should you do if you get an email similar to this one?

Delete it!

Don’t click on any of the links!

If you think that you ordered something similar to this, please log into your Amazon account.
