On January 25th, 2019 Discover announced that there may have been a breach on August 13, 2018.
They haven’t released any numbers but have issued replacement cards to the customers that may have been affected and assured everyone that fraudulent purchases are not the responsibility of their card holders.
What Information was involved?
Card account numbers and information may have been stolen.
How to protect yourself:
If you got a new card, activate it immediately to protect your account further.
If you didn’t get a replacement card, Discover is not including you in the breach.

“We can confirm this incident did not involve any Discover systems and we are forwarding this to the appropriate parties for review. We’re aware of a possible merchant data breach & are monitoring accounts. Our members can rest assured they’re never responsible for unauthorized purchases on their Discover card accounts. *Shawni”
