Although Mono is focused on Macs right now, it has the ability to cross over all the lines and infect Windows, Androids, PlayStations, Xbox, and even the Wii!
Mono is bundled in software downloads and installs with ‘cracked’ software, which is software that has been modified after it comes from the creators.
What does this mean to you?
After Mono launches it will collect system information and then begin adware campaigns.
Currently it isn’t stealing personal data but that is an ability that it does have and can be used for in the future.
What should you do?
Make sure that the software that you download comes directly from the makers not a third party.
Keep your operating system and your antivirus up-to-date.
