First, the Cambridge Analytica breach, then the announcement that millions of accounts had been compromised.
Now, the phone number that you put in for your two factor authentication is being sold by Facebook and used as a look up tool!
When you signed up for the two factor authentication it was only going to be used for recovery purposes. No one else was supposed to be able to see it!
However, as I looked through my settings in Facebook yesterday I came across these two pages:
You can’t even opt out of letting people search for you by your email or phone number! This is a total breach of privacy!
What can you do?
Remove your phone number from Facebook.
Still want to use the two factor authentication? Google Play and the App Store have authenticator apps that allow for a more secure sign-in.
