If you’re running Windows 7 on your computer you are probably aware that Microsoft is going to stop support for it on January 14, 2020. That doesn’t mean you can’t continue using Windows 7, it just means that you won’t get updates (some might call that a blessing).
Google recently found a security bug that appears to be targeting Windows 7 32-bit machines and reported the problem to Microsoft. This bug can get around the Windows Defender software, which makes it rather dangerous to have on your computer.
Google has rolled out patches for this bug however there is no patch on Microsoft’s end for Windows 7 machines.
Google is recommending people upgrade to Windows 10.
While that is an option, another option would be to use different browser and make sure that your anti-virus is up-to-date!
